Tyus Monroe is a proud Detroit native, devoted father to his son Jeremiah, and a lifelong public servant. Fatherhood fuels his leadership - every decision he makes is centered on building a safer, stronger future for the next generation.

Tyus began his career with the Detroit Police Department, serving in Eastern Operations and later in the Chief's Neighborhood Liaison Unit, where he worked to strengthen trust between officers and the community. He also helped launch the department's "Family Advocated and Management Liaison for Engagement (FAMLE) Unit, supporting families affected by violence and ensuring compassion remains at the center of public safety.

His service extends beyond law enforcement. Tyus has walked alongside families in the funeral industry during their most difficult moments and serves as a licensed Associate Minister at Triumph Church, living out his faith through humility and action.

A graduate of Cleary University with a degree in Organizational Leadership, Tyus combines real-world experience with the strategic vision needed to lead effectively.
